Shameless, shameless!

More shameless self-promotion from the Grumpy Old Editor...

If you don't blow your own horn, sometimes, who will? I believe that "well-written," at least in part, means something that is universal- that reminds us of our own thoughts or lives and makes us examine ourselves. As Socrates or Plato said, "The unexamined life is not worth living." I received my copy of "Enter, With Torches" a few day ago; and, it reminds me of things that I thought or felt, things that I may well have put aside. Your book is, as the critics say, "A Must Read." Thank you and I look forward to more!!!

Something I've learned over the years is that readers want to read about themselves; that is, they want to recognize their own thoughts and feelings in what they read. They are not at all interested in the writer and his or her thoughts and feelings unless they are shared experiences.
Thanks for the kind words.

Pop quiz! What does A. Pope say about this?

The picture of the little kid in the Klansman's hat is worth the price, alone. ;-)

Buy the book. You will see yourself in Park's writing, guaranteed. Make an old man happy ;)

Seriously... every time a book is sold, a little Polish kid gets a klansmen hat... it's like saying you don't believe in faeries... only quite different.

Good book, though...

Why does every black and white photograph of people in northern europe remind me of the 7th seal?

I'm most impressed that the kids seem to be sitting on a reproduction of part of the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.
